Eric Beller is a Florida Supreme Court Certified Civil Court Mediator and Supreme Court Qualified Arbitrator. Eric has previously served for 15 years as a Broward County Judge and General Magistrate. As a judge, he presided over thousands of jury and non-jury trials including accident, insurance, civil, criminal, and foreclosure cases. Appointed by the Chief Judge as a General Magistrate, Eric was assigned to the probate division where he presided over thousands of complex guardianship, trust and estates, and elder law matters. During his tenure as a judge, Eric has also served as a Florida Bar Referee.
Admitted to the Florida Bar in 1987 Eric has over 36 years experience as a Florida attorney. Prior to beginning his judicial career, Eric was a trial lawyer and has tried hundreds of jury and non-jury cases. He has litigated complex personal injury, accident, wrongful death, medical malpractice, and product defect claims. Eric previously was also a member and title agent for Attorneys Title and has closed hundreds of real estate deals. He has vast experience and understanding of title defects and real estate issues. Having represented both plaintiffs and defendants, heard thousands of cases as a judge and magistrate, Eric possesses a unique understanding of civil law from many different perspectives.
Originally from Brooklyn New York, Eric has resided in South Florida for over 36 years. During law school in San Diego, Eric spent time in Shanghai China studying law and language. He is conversant in Mandarin Chinese. Eric also holds a license as a United States Department of Homeland Security Customs Broker. He has previously taught at FAU as an adjunct professor of international law and business.
